Towels are of very poor quality.
The towels included in this set are the cheapest "quality". I planned this as a gift set but had to order other towels to go with oven mitts and oven mitts (they are fine and seem fine). The towels are not only very thin, but also feel inconsistent. The bottom edge does indeed appear to be "crispy" and I suspect some event occurred that damaged it. The printed design is also damaged on the bottom of the towel. My advice is to order flour bag towels, not terry towels. Sacks of flour are very good. Terry is terrible!
