Fast and easy update!

Leave a comment if you have any questions and I can either take some pics or give more details. It was a nice, quick, and easy upgrade over the CFLs we had previously installed. Each LED bulb was about 5W less than the one it replaced, reducing power consumption by about 33%. I will cover this below. The biggest problem with some of these lamps is if you want the lamp to be dimmable. Make sure you plan ahead and get dimmable lightbulbs. Non-dimming LED bulbs will not work properly if you try to dim them. In my photo you can see: left LED lamp; Phillips soft white light 450 lumens (40W), bright but not too bright. Medium LED bulb; Phillips soft white light 800 lumens (60W), lots of light, warm feeling. Correct LED lamp; LE 810 lumens, warm white light (60W), more light, cooler feeling. This should give you a decent comparison between different lightbulbs and their brightness levels. Phillips bulbs are slightly shorter than regular bulbs, so unlike the LE, we've been able to replace some of the shorter CFLs in smaller fixtures without having to repurchase dedicated short bulbs. We've selected 450 lumen, 40W LED replacement bulbs for exposed lamp mounts such as ceiling fans, so they won't hurt you when you look at them. It also went into the "ladies" toilet. There wasn't enough light for the bedside lamp. It seemed too dark. No more glare when looking at the ceiling fan in the living room! Some lamps and indoor ceiling lights were given warm white LE, with the lamps requiring a bit more power to penetrate the frosted glass. The dressing room was one of those places. The kitchen lighting and upstairs bathrooms were given soft white Philips bulbs, where they required less 'cold' light than LE, but still brighter light for reading recipes, cooking, prep, etc. . We also placed this bulb in the side lamps of the bed for a brighter yet warmer feel. I would buy these pears again.
