Even without the heat on, these are nice warm well insulated gloves. I have fairly large hands (8" from wrist to tip of index fingers, 9" from thumb to pinky tips with fingers spread) and the large size fits really well. Now as to what you're likely most curious about, the heating functions well, the heat is applied mostly to the back of the hand and then out to your finger tips. There are 3 levels of heat, and the hottest setting will likely keep hands warm on a frigid day in the snow. The battery is tucked in to a pocket on the outside of your wrist. Because the heating elements are all on the outside of your hand, they don't interfere with your grip at all.The only negative is the batteries are charged with a dedicated charger, so you can't use your USB travel charger or top of the charge in the car before returning to the snow. The supplied recharger did recharge them in just a couple of hours from about a half charge. It's not yet the snow season here, so I'll update this review when I get a chance to use them cross country skiing or snow showing, with how well they perform outside and how long the charge lasts.
