They cost about 1/4 of what the IDEAL brand costs at Lowe's. That tempted me enough to place an order. A package of 100 pieces arrived yesterday. Immediately I had to make a cable for home theater. After reading many reviews on this product I was wondering if the cables (24G) would fit the plug - they did. Not much trickier to install than the IDEAL connectors I was familiar with. Next, the wires go where they're supposed to... They went. I'm new to this RJ-45 connector and once the wires seem to find their way at first, I gently pull the connector off to make sure all the wires are properly separated (not doubled) and in the correct order. Now you just plug in and the cables are already routed to your house. Magnifying glass (poor vision) to ensure wires are fully inserted. After crimping, the last two questions are whether the plugs will fit the socket - they will fit, not too big and not too small. However, they immediately slipped out, did not close. The locking tab is hinged to the connector with some flexibility. I bent the tabs about 30 degrees and they snapped perfectly into place. Checked today, still available. Problem solved? Is it too early to tell? I don't know but they seem to work fine with this little tweak.
