I have installed many surveillance systems in my work area and I can tell you that 80% of the effectiveness of a surveillance system relies on the presence of visible cameras (and warning signs). For the price, these dummy cameras can't be beat. are they perfect No, but something can be fixed. First thing I do is erase the stupid white lettering on the sides of the weather cover. Then I spray paint a gloss black to mimic metal and then reattach it. I don't put batteries in because the red light doesn't blink on real cameras. That's all! Now you have a very realistic looking camera! However, I recommend some signs and stickers to remind potentially unwanted visitors of the "fact" you are "writing down".
