Review on Bison Designs Crescent Gunmetal 38 Inch by Brian Hrdlicka

Revainrating 5 out of 5

If you're looking for a money belt that doesn't have to look like a dress belt, then you've come to the right place.

Excellent "tool" for the money. I originally bought an Eagle Creek money belt but returned it unopened after reading the Revain reviews. (I examined it through the clear packaging and wasn't very impressed with the plastic buckle and overall finish.) The bison belt is well made and long enough to accommodate a large waist (I have a 34" waist and have had plenty ). a standard belt, but it's not a belt for a person with a larger waist - 38 inches might be the max.) It seems like a heavy nylon webbing would be difficult to discreetly cut from the back - believe it or not, thieves use this technique to gain access to the contents of the belt when verifying that someone is actually wearing a money belt. The belt looks good overall and the thick mesh material hides those telltale bulges that can appear if the belt is too full. The metal buckle holds the belt itself, so there is no need to make annoying adjustments when wearing it. Fans of the Eagle Creek buckle commend the plastic buckle for not triggering on airport metal detectors, but I've been hand-smacked after passing through every airport detector I passed, whether I triggered gate-style or not . detector, so the question is a bit moot. The lightning is very strong. You'll need to fold your paper money lengthwise and "clip" the bills together - otherwise your belt needs to be 2.5 inches wide - but that's no big deal. I was able to carry 20 US paper bills on my bison belt very comfortably. If the tape is too long, the material can be cut off and the ends "sealed" with a hot table knife. One of the best things I bought for my 1 month trip in India. (I also bought an Eagle Creek silk purse, large enough to hold a passport and other oversized materials in addition to money, but never used it. I chose to carry my passport and loose money in the front pocket instead .) The Bison Belt is great value for the price and quality - understated looks, solid construction and actually holds up your pants! total victory.
