This display worked great on a Raspberry Pi that I bought in August 2017 and may have upgraded at some point. I simply connected the RP's power cable to the display, connected the display to the RP with a) the included HDMI cable and b) the included micro USB cable, then connected the power and the display worked, even the touchscreen worked (started apps with it). The screen turns off after 10 minutes and turns on again when you touch it. I found a website that explains how to change the command line to set the timeout.
