This is slightly larger than the standard bracket that comes with most detectors, but is much stronger. I use it in both my car and truck. With a truck, the radar detector staggers properly even on the smoothest roads due to the tilt of the windshield, with such a mount it is as stable as a rock in the surf. In the car, the angle of the window helped keep it stable, but on a hot day the suction cups didn't hold up. I haven't had it long enough to say it would work better, but the 3rd sucker should really make a difference. I am happy with this product and have already bought a second one so I can have one for each car.
