I was looking for something to take with me that didn't require all the ports and cables of my Huion Kamvas Pro 16. Don't get me wrong, I love the Pro 16 when I'm drawing at my desk. but while it's light and a good size, all the cables/power cords aren't very travel friendly. This is where the Inspiroy Dial comes into play. I can throw it in my bag with my laptop, take it anywhere and draw/paint/animate digitally with ease. Wireless and Watchface are the two most important features of a tablet. Here are the pros and cons that came to mind after using the tablet: Pros: 1. Wireless. When I first received the tablet, I plugged it in and charged it fully. I haven't connected it to the network since that first day. I've been using it 3-4 hours a day in Photoshop CC 2020 and it's still running at 60% battery life.2. Dial - I like this dial. I left Photoshop defaults: zoom in/out, brush zoom in/out, scroll up/down when zooming canvas. This makes the drawing process much faster.3. keyboard shortcuts. This is what I liked about my Pro 16 as the keyboard shortcuts were on a tablet. Since I recently bought the Pro 16, Huion has updated its software so you can program different shortcuts for different programs, which is great. Previously, you either had to change the shortcuts in each of your programs to be the same (which I did) or you had to change them in the Huion software every time you switched programs. They fixed this problem with their latest software update and it works fine.4. Price. Since I already had a tablet, I couldn't justify spending a lot on a new tablet just to use on the go. The price of the Inspiroy Dial is so low I didn't even have to think about it. It's also a great starting point for aspiring artists who want to try their hand at digital painting. I wish this had been available when I started, but back then there were only very expensive Wacom tablets which I think can easily compete with this tablet and are a lot cheaper. surface for drawing. Unlike the Pro 16, which is a bit smoother, the Inspiroy Dial has a tooth that feels more like drawing on paper. Of course, it doesn't exactly look like paper, but it really is nothing but paper.6. Responsiveness. I thought there might be latency issues when using this tablet wirelessly, but that's not the case. My strokes on the screen correspond to the movement of the pen on the tablet.7. Works with all programs I use: I use Photoshop CC 2020 for painting/sketching and Blender for 3D modeling and animation. It works fine with both and I don't have any lags or other weird issues with either piece of software. Cons: 1. Sometimes the tablet turns off. This can happen once every few hours or so, but not so often that I find it annoying. I don't know if this is related to my computer (I'm using a mid 2014 Macbook Pro) as I have other wireless devices that are also disconnecting from the laptop. So this may or may not be a tablet scam, but I thought I'd mention it and explain why this is happening to me. 2. The size of the tablet is both a plus and a minus. It's a pro because it has room for a dial and shortcut keys. This is a scam because I like to use it on my lap even when I'm at my desk. If it were a little smaller, I would wish for a tablet even more.3. I'm getting used to drawing on a tablet, but I look at the monitor. It's been many years since I drew on this type of tablet, so it took me a little practice to get back to it, but once I did it wasn't like that anymore. It's bad. If you've never done this before, it will take practice. If you're looking for a cheap starter tablet, or a tablet that lets you draw anywhere other than desktop, I think this is the best option available. I've included a picture of the size of the tablet relative to my laptop (they're about the same size) and a drawing in progress that I'm using to create the tablet in Photoshop.
