Review on Optimized for SEO: Nikon F Tamron SP 35mm f/1.4 Di USD Lens by Sonia Washington

An amazing piece of glass, but the Nikon D850 has autofocus issues.

The processing quality and optics are amazing. This lens has the best bokeh of any 35mm 1.4 I've used. Much better than Sigma Art and Nikon 35mm 1.4g. It's also very sharp, like a Sigma Art lens. Focusing on my D750 is fast, quiet and generally good, and seems to hit both the center and side focus points fairly well. However, while the central focus points work decently on my D850, the extreme left and right columns of points are heavily focused from the front, a similar problem to the Sigma 35 art found on Nikon camera bodies. So far the only 35mm 1.4 prime lens I've tried that focuses perfectly with all focus points is Nikon's own 35mm 1.4g lens, which is no surprise. I really like the optics of this lens, it's a true 35mm focal length (Sigma is probably closer to 33mm, you can see a tiny difference in depth of field). However, I wish it didn't have issues with some focus points on my D850. If you're shooting with the D750 or any of the new Nikon z6/z7 mirrorless cameras, I say go for it. It works great on the Z6 I have. And finally, this seller sold me a clearly open lens as "new". The rear lens cap was Nikon and the front was Promaster, so someone returned it and the caps were lost or swapped.
