The Northpoint travel pillow works great when sitting in a chair. As a 6'1" male I have quite a long neck and the pillow is thick enough to provide decent support. The 100% polyester detachable sleeve feels comfortable and didn't irritate my skin; it's actually quite convenient. There is an elastic strap on the back of the bag that can be used to attach a headrest (such as a car seat) or as a carry handle. To clean, detach the removable cover from the inner polyurethane foam padding. . Experience has shown that you only want to wash the shells. I used to wash memory foam pillows with terrible results; it acts like a sponge that never dries up. To wash the detachable bowl, simply hand wash in cold water and hang or air dry. There are combustible materials, so be careful around ignition sources. Considering it's made in China, the quality is pretty good. The seams are even, there are no visible defects. One reviewer noted that this pillow is too big, which some people may find. But my wife, who is 5ft 7inches shorter than me, had no problem. In fact, the pillow worked well for her when she was suffering from migraines. She could sit in a chair and relax her neck without tilting her head to one side. It has proven to be a very effective stress reliever. As for me, I suffer from chronic neck pain. Just to test, I slept lying in bed with a pillow all night. Unfortunately it didn't work that well. I woke up with neck pain several times. I don't blame the pillow for that as it's clearly meant for sitting and not lying down. When I'm sitting in an office chair or reading a book in the chair, the cushion works great. Firm enough to hold my head but with enough strength to shape the shape of my neck. This makes the Northpoint Travel Pillow great for home use, as well as when traveling in an airplane, car or other vehicle. I've been using it for about a month and so far I can't say anything bad about it. From what I've seen, it's worth a try.
