I *really like* this large-capacity box! I hit it directly for 2 to maybe 3 seconds with the hottest part of my butane torch flame - it did not melt or even scorch, and cooled off quickly! Wow.! And it *is* water resistant as described. The material is not at all scratchy, so it's comfortable to keep on your lap to add, remove, or go through the contents.I don't know what the structural material is underneath the covering, but it seems to be pretty strong and didn't suffer at all from my flame test. It holds A LOT - I have a completely-full 3" thick ring binder in it, plus a full 2" ring binder, plus several smaller photo boxes.So it's great storage to keep things both clean and reasonably safe.
