For me these bars are too short for mountain biking unless used for very short rides. The actual length of the handle is less than five inches and only four inches not counting the inner ribbed portion. The short length combined with the raised ridge on the outside of the handle means there is no room for sideways movement for wider hands. The design suits the bike as I've been using the Oury on my MX bikes for years, but they are too short for MTB on long rides. I've also found that on handlebars with a rough finish (e.g. shot peened) using grip glue is a must.
