Solid, reliable, functional: worth the extra cost
I've been trying for a long time to find a decent, reliable USB hub. It doesn't seem like it should be that hard, but apparently it is. I've looked through a few that I've returned, either because they somehow failed or because of problematic features like switches that needed to be manually reset after a power outage. This one is expensive, but so far so good. The Congress with mounting plate and rubber grip is not a critical feature, but a thoughtful improvement. If you need a hub that works without frequent attention, then this could be the one.
