This is the best profile gauge I have ever seen and I have worked in many tire shops. it's mine, as opposed to the cheap green/red ones floating around the store. The most important thing is its SAE. You need batteries, and why invest so much technology or money in a tread depth gauge? It's simple, practical, and Milton makes good products. Although I think they tend to be inaccurate.
