Review on John Frieda Luxurious Volume 7-Day In-Shower πŸ’† Hair Treatment for Long-Lasting Volume - 4 Ounces by Jamie Jenkins

thin straight hair that thins at the crown

John Frieda Shower Volumizer works well. I have long thin straight hair that thins at the top. I was looking for something that would help add volume without being greasy because my hair tends to fall out more with washing, so I prefer to leave about 5 days between washes. The good thing about this product is that you don't even have to use it every time you wash your hair. I use it maybe once every two weeks. I have been using John Frieda hairspray for many years and came across this product a few months ago. My hair is never super shiny (even if I don't put product on it) so I don't think it's a big factor. The products I've tried claiming to make my hair shiny only weigh my hair down without adding much shine so I gave up shiny hair. But I don't want flat hair! I agree with a review where I read that this product somehow gives more "texture" to the hair. My hair tends to be very flat because it's so thin. This product makes the hair strands more voluminous and structured. I've used it alone, with mousse, with John Frieda Root Booster, with a blow dry, with no blow dry. It is most effective when combined with Root Booster and a blow dry, but it helps on its own too. (Root Booster only seems to work for blow-drying.) It doesn't provide a super lift - I think it has more to do with the styling process; I'm not the best at styling, but it definitely helps that my flat mop doesn't look like it's stuck to my head! :) My mom also started using it and she likes it. I'll stock up because the price is reduced now and I don't want to run out although I think a bottle will last. Since my hair is so thin, I don't cover my whole head. I work a little on my hands and then work it through my hair section by section. I applied too much once and found it weighed my hair down. A little goes a long way and gives great results.
