When we got our donkey, his little legs were practically covered in blood from fly or mosquito bites. She got better with Swat but if I forget to put it on in the morning her legs bleed again. So fly boots are an effective, non-chemical way to protect her, and she looks so much better than she started! The hair grows back and also protects their skin from being scratched by their teeth, which helps in healing. I leave these boots on day and night but take them off to clean her feet and check that everything is ok. The only downside is that the boots seem slippery and the flies have started biting the areas that are not covered over the boots. So I still have to apply some fly repellent, but 80% of the area is now protected and can be healed. Much better. I want the boots to be higher than the moving parts of the legs and that would be 100% protection. But they are definitely worth 4 stars!
