My dog loves this bed/car seat and doesn't mind staying inside while driving. That speaks volumes! She never wants to stay in one place when she is in the car, but this car seat has made driving much easier for her. One of the disadvantages is the not very high quality of the product. At first we were very impressed! The pillow fillings were very full/thick which helped my dog love this car seat. The waterproof fabric seems to help clean up after my dog's mess. BUT when I lifted the middle pillow I saw how terribly finished it was. I consider a good quality product when not only is it good on the outside, but the inside/finish of the product is also well finished. No matter how carefully I wash it, there will be a problem and the threads will eventually make the end of the fabric disappear. For the price paid I expected a better product. In order not to wash or even touch this area, I had to cover the seat with a cover; which kind of defeats the purpose/reason I chose the waterproof car seat. The size was my biggest problem. While this shows the dimensions, I wasn't sure how fluffy the cushions would be and how dense they would make the actual seating area. Overall, this is a good car seat for small dogs. My dog is about 13 pounds but has a long body. I would not recommend this for an adult medium sized dog. If your dog is too big to be small but too small to be medium, I think this would be a good option. I bought a rear seat extender and opened the front of the car seat to make room for it. But even when closed, it fits in and there's not that much clearance.
