I have used these bulbs twice, in two different places, both with great success. I first used them after moving into my current apartment a few years ago. and ran into the problem of not being able to mount lights on the stucco ceiling or most of the walls (in my rented space), so I got stuck with lamps I could hang on the wall myself while still plugging them into a standard outlet . Once I found these pendant lights (purchased separately), I tried a variety of light bulbs—traditional incandescent, LEDs, and these halogen bulbs that fit in a standard outlet. These bulbs were the only ones powerful enough to light my artwork from across the room and also warm enough to give a very nice warm tone. They worked so well I worked with my mom to install the same setup at her shop. and they work great. I think they heat up to the same level as a traditional incandescent bulb, maybe a little less (for example: they're a lot less hot than a traditional halogen bulb. They burn out relatively often, I'd say about every 4 months with frequent use I continued to buy them for their other unique qualities and decided they were worth the cost for me and my artwork.
