I bought two stools for my twin daughters to help us bake. The stools came together easily enough, but there seem to be some quality control issues. Both stools had issues with holes not fully drilled (different parts). The second chair's wooden dowel was not fully drilled out and the screws had completely sheared off. I had to disassemble the chair and loosen the remaining screw with pliers. I didn't want to get the drill out, so I used a dam kit to trim the screws and dowels that were too long. The wooden dowels used to attach the vertical pieces are too loose in the holes to ensure adequate strength (about a 3/16" dowel in a 5/16" hole). I thought they were solid wood but they are actually melamine chipboard. The edges are well finished but I doubt they will last long. It's definitely not strong enough for an adult to stand on a stool when needing to get to the upper cabinet. As they are already fitted and inexpensive we will keep them until we find a better alternative.
