I ordered a 12-outlet swivel power strip and surge protector from Belkin to accommodate the large amount of electronics we needed to plug in next to our computer. I have not bought a surge protector before me and bought this one based on the number of outlets and its good reviews. I like that the plugs are rotatable. However, I don't like that the connections are so close together. I didn't pay attention, but it turns out that many of our electronics' power cords have adapter plugs and take up quite a bit of space. So I can't use all 12 sockets even though they rotate. (See photo.) I found an old Radio Shack surge protector that we've used elsewhere in the house. I can now see that its 8 sockets are significantly further apart than the sockets on this Belkin. So while this Belkin surge protector will suffice, in the future I will know that I need to consider not only the NUMBER of outlets, but also the DISTANCE BETWEEN the outlets.
