Review on 🚫 Sentry 2.0 Phone Call Blocker: The Ultimate Solution for Blocking Unwanted Calls by Lindsey Baker

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I wish I had bought this sooner!

We have Comcast for our home phone. They let you block numbers on their website but they only let you block 25 numbers so you have to unblock old numbers to block new ones. We got at least a dozen calls from Derry, New Hampshire that day; We don't know or do business with anyone there, and the callers left no messages. I blocked them on Comcast but as soon as I blocked the last one they called us again from Derry, New Hampshire from a different number. Our rule is, if we don't recognize the number in the caller ID, we don't pick up the phone, and if the caller doesn't bother to leave a message, they're blocked. But since we can only block 25 numbers through Comcast, we knew it wouldn't help. That's why I bought this thing. It was pretty easy to set up. First enter all the numbers of the people you want to receive calls from. These people will reach out to you and never know you have a call blocker installed. Everyone else gets a recorded message instructing them to press "0" to pass. My only complaint is that the recorded message doesn't tell the caller to call back after pressing '0', that pressing the button doesn't connect you immediately. I discovered this while testing it; I have whitelisted all allowed numbers except my cell phone. I then called my landline number on my cell phone, pressed '0' to be whitelisted, but never got through to voicemail. But when I hung up and called back, I got through right away. So, if anything, this thing works TOO well. The annoying calls have finally stopped, they ring but don't press the "0" so they're never whitelisted. If an unwanted caller is on the whitelist, it is enough to simply move this number to the blacklist so that he no longer bothers you.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • boring packaging
