My son's case for the Switch held the Switch well and lasted 10 games. It was so flat it was almost anything that could hold it. This case is much deeper to accommodate more accessories. This is especially important considering the charging cable is a 1x2x3 inch cube that will never fit in a flat case. This pocket is deep enough to hold a variety of accessories such as a charger, included stand, etc. The three best things about this case are: 1) Depth for more storage 10) 3) Includes stand (my son loves playing with his controller off and to be honest the built in switch stand sucks)
