Review on ๐ŸŽฎ Enhanced Gaming Experience: GEEKLIN Wireless Controller for PS4/PC/Slim Console with Touch Panel, Dual Vibration, Headset Jack & USB Cable-Black by Simone Black

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Decent PS4 controller, works well, a little smaller than OEM

Compared to the OEM controller, the controller seems a little smaller than the original PlayStation 4 controller If you have big hands and are already uncomfortable with it a PlayStation 4 OEM controller, this controller may not be suitable for you. I will say that this is a hybrid between the PlayStation 4 and the Switch Pro controller. It's pretty easy to connect to your PS4 for the first time if you just plug it in using a micro USB cable, which I would recommend. It's honestly the best way to connect a controller to a PlayStation 4. Once I connected it everything was fine as I didn't have to reconnect the cable (unless I charge the controller). The connection will be restored automatically after a short time. I tried powering on the PS4 with this controller and it takes a few extra seconds to connect this controller compared to the OEM controller. The controller seems a bit odd to me as it has a smaller form factor and you can tell the controller looks cheaper in terms of material. They moved the option and the start button to the bottom of the panel (which also doesn't work like the PS4 controller). It takes some time to get used to if you go this route. Other than that, the overall construction of this controller is pretty solid and looks like an OEM controller. The buttons have different designs, but you can tell which is which. I'm a little concerned that the button will be deleted after a while. That being said, I'd love to have it lasered or something. The material is something that can be scratched fairly easily. The top of the OEM controller is now top center and facing you. It also lights up to indicate that the controller is powered on, regardless of whether the controller is powered on or not. The controller can be used while plugged into an external outlet, so you can keep playing as long as you charge from an outlet across the room. This device works via Bluetooth if you need to connect it to a computer. To turn it on, press and hold the power button. On a PC, it connects almost automatically when you plug it in for the first time. The controller has a fairly stable connection. I could sit across the room and not like the responsiveness. Unfortunately the controller doesn't last as long as the OEM controller on the Playstation 4. I'm pretty sure it's because the controller is smaller and most likely has a smaller battery. As far as I can tell, the controller lasts about four to five hours. Charges via micro USB cable, cable included. Overall charging time can be a bit slow depending on what you are connected to and whether you are using the device while charging. Again, the keys feel comfortable, but respond quite well. I don't see this wearing off anytime soon either, and the joystick can take some punishment from hardcore gamers. The controller is a good controller for use with the PlayStation 4, but honestly I would have gotten something bigger to be more comfortable for everyone. User. Overall I think this is a good 3rd party controller. It's easy, it works the same way, and it won't cost you an arm or a leg. There are no connectivity issues other than a low battery. It often turns off when you have a low battery. It looks relatively similar to the OEM controller, except for the smaller size and the LED at the top that's shifted towards you.

Pros

Cons
  • Poorly designed
