Review on 🚗 Metra 95-7868B Double DIN Installation Dash Kit for Acura CL 2001-2003 & TL 1999-2003 by Eric Alcantara

I used this to fit a new JVC KW-XR810 to my 2002 Acura TL Type-S. This dashboard kit worked quite well with a few exceptions. First, the included instructions aren't clear which holes you use to mount the side brackets to the main unit. As you can see in the main photo, there are about 15 different holes that you can use to attach the side brackets to the main unit. If you use the wrong ones you will run into a situation where the screws you are using will bump into the car's metal mounts and you will have to pull them out and try again. It's basically trial and error, and as this kit fits a wide variety of vehicles, that's to be expected. Second, the instructions say to snap the side brackets into the front mounting frame. The set I received didn't snap into place. They approached but didn't lock and stayed. This made installation a little more difficult as I had to attach three plastic pieces together while mounting the head unit to the dash. It's just a manufacturing defect. Luckily it wasn't a functional or aesthetic issue, just an installation issue. There are also many reasons why this still deserves four stars. For example, this unit has a storage tray mount built into the Acura TL dashboard. It's really nice not having to do without a hidden storage space. Overall the fit is really good. It looks just like the dashboard and gives your rig a professional look. While I have pointed out two "problems" with this dashboard kit, I have to say I would buy it again. A family member has a similar car and if I change his head unit I will use it again. For the price, this is a great dashboard kit. I will definitely buy it again. Hooray!
