This is the best radio I have ever owned. I am 59 years old and have had a radio in my truck since 1977. When combined with a Browning loop antenna with a 10" extension, the SWR is unreadable. Speaking locally 30 miles down the local back road is like speaking to missed calls. The automatic squelch works great. I've had a Galaxy, Cobra, Ranger, I bought that for the shoulder, I've also used a Stryker 94 which has impressed me a lot, but it didn't have the shoulder. He also spoke am. I don't speak FM. My friends don't have that option.
