Bought a second Powerex charger. Now that there are many more devices in the home and office that use batteries, I would rather charge batteries as often as possible rather than buying tons of batteries only to either throw them away or find a recycling center. This device from Maha is one of the best! I use their brand name batteries (Powerex AA) in my professional flashes and also carry them as a backup when all three of my Nikon camera batteries are dead. I like that this device has multiple options for fast charging, normal charging and/or conditioning (it lasts about a day but definitely extends battery life!). I typically "soft charge" AA and AAA batteries when they're low, and then every 10-15 charge cycles I put them on conditioning, which involves charging and discharging the batteries multiple times throughout the day to prevent that the cells inside collapse . of the development of "memory". I only find this necessary for batteries used in constant discharge devices such as B. flameless candles or objects that drain the battery fairly quickly. I only check batteries for my professional flashes every few months as they are used for bursts of electricity and not for continuous discharge. Due to the large number of batteries I have around the house I ended up buying another unit and found that the price has actually come down over the last 5 years which is a plus!
