Review on 🍴 SVEICO Peeler: Compact Black Kitchen Tool, 27 by 7 by 3cm - Efficient Vegetable and Fruit Peeling by Michael Henderson

After reading the rave reviews, although there are currently only 2 (yes, two) I decided to try a similar one as a replacement for my longtime OXO cleaner Draft. The design is simple and beautiful, but either the sharpness is not convincing or my expectations were too high based on these reviews. For a brand new product it doesn't feel significantly sharper than my old OXO knife which has quite a bit of mileage. I'm wondering if these two reviews are real or if the reviewers never tried the other products? Anyway lesson learned. I would stay away from products with very few (positive) reviews. SVEICO is inexpensive and not worth returning. It will just sit in a drawer and maybe be used as a backup from time to time. By the way, I recently bought another knife (a different brand and design, called the Y-type) which is excellent. Sharpness is incomparable. The only thing to note is that these two designs are very different and I use them for different purposes. For example, the SVEICO design works well for irregular shapes like potatoes and ginger and small products, while the Y shape is much more convenient for oblong or round products like cucumbers, carrots, apples, pears, lemons. etc. OK to buy but still looking for a great knife.
