Review on Osprey Tempest Womens Backpack Medium Sports & Fitness and Boating & Sailing by Michael Skerving

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Cannot withstand weight of water, pulls shoulder.

I wanted to like this package. The back panel is really comfortable but doesn't provide enough support for the 3 liters of water I carry with me when hiking. I've tried playing around with the settings, but while the waist belt has good webbing, the straps themselves are narrow and a weak link. for support. For comparison I have some old camels that disappear on my back. I'm trying to replace that. I like the ventilated back, I mostly travel in a very hot and humid region. The back will still sweat, but with airflow in the design, it will be much more comfortable. Also, the new camel packs with articulated wire-frame back pads were not comfortable. I took them on a weekend trip out of town to see how they work as a daypack and they were a bit flexible. The only compression straps are those around the side pockets. I guess the thin material doesn't help, but it hangs down my back for my daily needs around town. I've always known about the package. I accidentally ordered the Talon, the men's version of this pack, and didn't realize in time to cancel, so I compared the two and the sex characteristics were noticeably more comfortable. I also liked some of the other features in this pack. I was convinced by reading the reviews that this would be the perfect replacement. I guess I need to learn how to fix the ones I have. I was going to leave it as a commuter backpack but it didn't work well on my trip so I'm sending it back.
