Review on ๐Ÿš— Halo Infinite Vehicle Building Toys by Mega Construx by Donald Cox

Get ready to build toys

This is Mega Construx's best pelican model, full of intricate detail and working spinning wings. However, I wouldn't say the experience between the building and the finished project is worth the $150 retail price. If possible, buy this set for around $100 or less. This set lets you recreate iconic scenes from the first Halo Infinite trailers and articles, but the inclusion of just one Hunter is disappointing. In the Halo series, Hunters come in pairs, and Mega Constux has released several sets where that lore was true. The Pelican itself is a beautiful and iconic vehicle, faithfully recreated in the form of the Mega Construx, but the building process isn't smooth and easy. The building process is time consuming and can be painful for fingers. The added splitter tool is very useful and can help with most build issues. The only problems it can't solve are missing parts. I bought two of these sets and both were missing various parts. The finished product didn't change that, but it did make the build process slower and more stressful. The only detail I don't like about the Pelicans is the ramp. This is not a straight platform but an inclined ramp that sits awkwardly when lowered. No pelican in the Halo universe has a ramp like this, and I've redesigned the ramps on my pelicans to better suit their purpose and effectively allow someone to safely board the vehicle. Overall, I have no regrets buying this set, but I won't be buying a third one. The set is massive and beautifully designed except for the ramp. However, they are quite heavy and cannot only be carried by the built-in chassis. I love these pelicans, but if you're buying this set, be careful and be prepared. Not all of the parts you need are included, and the assembly process can be tedious, time-consuming, and painful.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
