48 lb pittie mix, spayed at 6 months. Pet had a 26” chest which would be a size large but a length more like the XL on side chart. Went with xl figuring larger better than smaller. However, it’s a loose around the chest which then means while she’s sleeping she eventually works it down around her chest and the neck hole gets stuck, which then means her front legs are trapped to her. And then try pulling that back up on a sleeping dog! We could’ve used a size large instead, the velcro tabs probably would allow for more adjustment in length. Washed fine, put in dryer until nearly dry and finished air drying. Didn’t shrink much with wash/dry, although I did try to shrink it a bit by fully drying it during subsequent laundering. Definitely a good alternative to the cone, which terrified my dog. My pet wasn’t able to remove the suit on her own, aside from possibly trying to escape through the neck hole! Note fabric isn’t very thick and I worried she could still chew at her incision albeit through the fabric, but she didn’t show any interest in that. Easy to pull the back down for potty breaks and we just rolled it up her body to keep in place for that short time. Recommend checking measurements of your pet and also realize there is adjustment on length with the Velcro tabs on back. We did purchase another kind of recovery suit off Ebay which seemed to be a better fit for my dog, but all in all this worked just fine.
