I bought these to replace the Krups Cafe Express which was the best 4 cup coffee maker ever. Unfortunately it was discontinued so after ten years of use I had to look elsewhere. Although this does not come close to the quality of the Krups, it has appealing properties. First, you can use #2 cone filters, which I prefer all the time since you don't have to clean them. Second, it has an auto shut off feature which my old one didn't have. A pull-out basket is better than a pull-out basket. It brews quickly, cleans easily, and gets the job done: makes some decent cups of coffee every morning. I don't understand some of these reviews. This isn't rocket science. While I don't think it's as well made as Krups, it does the job after a few months of use.
