Review on 🐠 IceCap Dual Optical ATO: Advanced Auto Top Off Controller for Hassle-Free Aquarium Maintenance by Desiree Orr

I like IceCap ATO. I've had it for a few months now and haven't had any problems with it. The only time I hear it working is when the house is dead quiet and I'm in the same area as the tank or when I'm standing next to the tank. Otherwise it's pretty quiet. The small pump that comes with the kit is enough to lift water from the bottom of my ATO tank to the top of my 40 gallon tank, which is about 4 to 4.5 feet of head height. It includes everything you need to get set up and running. The sensor mount is magnetic. I use a 1 inch natural bristle brush to gently clean the sensors periodically so I don't even have to take them off. CONS: The reason I only gave it four stars is because it's not specifically designed to accommodate a tank with a rim around it. However, it can be configured so that this is no longer a problem. First, the fitting for the end of the hose that goes into the tank doesn't fit properly on the rimmed tank so you have to use an alternate method of attaching the hose to keep it in place the way they do Instructing them to mount the sensors in a bracket, not ideal for a tank with a rim. I personally feel that the distance between the sensor triggers is too big for a tank when set up the way they suggest. In the end I positioned both sensors so they were pointing up and then adjusted the mount slightly rotated to the left so that the low level sensor was a little more in the water and the high level sensor was a little more above the water. So far I have no complaints about the functionality of this ATO and I would recommend it to anyone who is not too picky about easily customizing the product to get it just how they like it.
