It does become slightly hard after being compressed beneath your head. Fluffiness can easily be restored by shaking and squeezing it, but that's not something I feel like doing each time I roll over during the night. Overall I like it though. I've ordered a second one. these pillows having successfully replaced a $200 Tempur-Pedic pillow that was way too firm for my liking.
