Review on Fiebings 100 Pure Neatsfoot Oil by Rhonda Hughes

I prefer pure leather oil (as opposed to a compound which can contain mixed synthetic oils and can sometimes damage stitching). Fiebing's generous coating, carefully rubbed in, worked wonders on my old and very dry baseball gloves, WWII holsters and some other small leather items. The second application a few weeks later continued the restoration and rejuvenation of the skin. Of course, it's best to treat your leather products fairly regularly from the start. But if you're missing out, pure, clean paw oil is what you need to get your skin back. The clean paw oil is easily absorbed and does not leave a greasy or oily film on the skin. When you get to the point where the leather has absorbed all the oil it needs, you can quickly remove excess oil on the surface by quickly wiping it down with a clean rag. Two notes: 1. If you have very light skin that needs to remain light for some reason, you should not use foot oil as it will darken your skin a bit. After all, it is an oil that absorbs into the skin. In my opinion this gives the leather a really soft, slightly aged look of a beautiful piece that has been used hard and taken good care of. Your taste may be different.2. While fiebing is great for belts, straps, tackle, holsters, baseball gloves, etc., I prefer rubbing mink oil into leather boots (paying close attention to welts and seams) that I wear when wet. Dirt and sloppiness outdoors.
