I read reviews of this product and 60% said it was overpriced crap. Who are these people?! What do they do with those watch straps? You talk about this "flaking" and things like that, what exactly is flaking? Dye? Leather? As far as I can see, and I sweat a lot when I run, hike, or generally exercise, it works great, it's durable, lightweight, and feels like any other sport watch strap I've used on various watches over time. Just bad stuff - yes it's synthetic. So if you're allergic to plastic or synthetics, don't take it, stick with cotton or genuine leather.
