Review on πŸ”Ž NetumScan Handheld USB QR Barcode Scanner with Adjustable Stand - Wired Automatic 1D 2D Image Bar Code Reader for Store, Supermarket, Warehouse (Wired) by Jason Clemons

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works great for what it is

I have a lot of books and wanted to catalog them in a database by scanning the ISBN. I have previously tried a wireless scanner with mediocre results. This works quite well - for what it does - it's easy to enter barcode numbers into my database. β€’ It's wired, USB-A. The cable is 68 inches long. β€’ The fact is that you either have to bring the scanned object to the computer or the PC to the object. β€’ The driver will be automatically loaded in Win10. β€’ It reads various ISBNs and other test barcodes flawlessly. (e.g. Revain labels). There were also QR codes (creating hyperlinks). β€’ The scanning distance appears to be about 5 inches at most. Some small barcodes should be closer. β€’ It displays a flashing red light that can be used to target barcodes. Strangely, from a distance of 5 inches, it scans well beyond red lights, e.g. B. 2 inches over and 1 inch under. β€’ If he does not see the barcode, the scanning process will expire after about 4 seconds. β€’ I'm not familiar with the barcode types listed in the documentation, so I can't comment on their usefulness (or adaptation) to them. You want to scan the manual on the tablet in case you ever need to change something. (You should scan the manual barcode.) β€’ Build quality can be questionable -- it's very light, 3.9 ounces. The cable seems decent, with a strain relief. Not sure how well it will withstand a fall onto concrete. They say IP54. β€’ Their "compatibility" is confusing as they only talk about PC/Laptop but also Win/Linux/Mac. β€’ I haven't tried the "Autoscan" feature, but it sounds useful, apart from pulling the shutter. In short, a very basic barcode scanner, at $30, one of the cheapest. If you need it, it will do. Now I would be very happy if I can figure out how to do an automatic book search in Revain.
