From a harder point of view

I ride an aluminum cyclocross bike that I use for the 10 mile commute, often at night. I've been using them for about 2 weeks. Some Notes: Pros: I can definitely vouch for its water resistance. Yesterday I had to bike 15 miles home through a torrential thunderstorm (the kind that soaks you for the first 20 seconds) in them. There were also long wet sections of the track where my tires were completely submerged. The light was on and didn't go off during the test. The next day I checked if the water had leaked out overnight, no they were still working. The materials appear to be durable. The battery case is made from thick plastic and the LED strip is encased in a clear plastic tube, giving it some protection and resistance to any dirt you might encounter. It looks cute and attracts a lot of positive attention. They lasted about 10 hours in total so I can say the battery pack can last at least that long - I'm a bit concerned that the heavy battery pack will negatively affect my wheel balance. I've gotten my rig to 60km/h on the straights with no negative feedback or vibration, but I'm still wary of fast corners. Disadvantages/suggestions for improvement: - Easy battery replacement. The battery compartment is locked with four screws that are quite difficult to open (especially if the battery is already attached to your wheel). It would be better if some sort of tongue/latch mechanism was used instead - more versatile mounting options. The supplied fastening mechanism seems to be designed for wheels with several cross spokes. My wheels have a smaller number of spokes that are further apart. My front wheel doesn't have spoke points either, and my rear wheel's spoke angle was too wide to be compatible with the battery mount, so I had to get a little creative (and sandpaper) to attach them. Referring to my previous comment on wheel balancing, it would be nice to be able to mount the battery on top of the wheel hub, closer to the wheel's center of gravity. Overall I like my Tron. Bike and will hopefully update this review as I do more testing (battery life, sub-zero Wisconsin winters, overall durability, etc.). roam deep water (some water may later get stuck in the pipes but will eventually seep out). Two winters in Wisconsin later. Still works and holds up strong. - Pushes you harder when you pedal because cool bikes don't slow down.
