I've played around with the belly ring so much! I always lose them because at some point I twist the ball, lose it, and then it all falls out. That was great. I had no issues with the roughness of the metal, no lips, no hooks, nothing to irritate the piercing. However, it has an external thread, which is not surprising for a budget ring set. I am sensitive to and have had no reactions to anything but surgical steel, gold or silver. They never turned brassy or made my skin green, red, or irritated. They look more like chrome and stainless steel than, for example, platinum, but I think they look good. I haven't measured exactly but they appear to be medium sized, no surprises in length (although I always say I'd like a shorter one) or caliber. I've never lost a gemstone, although some feel it wobbles a bit. I received mine in June 2015 and by this point in February 2016 I should probably be thinking about ordering more as I've lost a good number of these.
