This mount has a couple of great advantages. First, if you have an inch sensor with a large front lens, you don't have to remove it to put it in the mount, which is nice. Second, you have a proper tripod mount to use instead of messing around with those ridiculous GoPro mounts. Third, you don't have an extra layer of plastic where the keys are, so you can feel the key press better than with a standard plastic cage, which adds another layer of plastic between the keys, making it a lot tougher. click on them. It's durable and not too expensive. It's way better than other mounts that still have that silly pivoting flap like a standard cage. It's just a bad idea and those other aluminum mounts copied that awful design.
