The size fits. My daughter is almost 3 and 4t and tall. She definitely should have worn leggings with that. I think without leggings it will be itchy too. I also had to cut off the mesh on the sleeves (too long and uncomfortable) but then it itched so I had to remove it completely and undo all the seams on the sleeves. Not a big deal, but it took a while. All in all, it's very cute for our family photos.
