i don't know why i'm buying gopro suction cup only now but this is my first one. At first glance, the diameter of the suction cup is much wider, around 3 inches, while my usual mounts are 2 inches. Those are all my rough guesses. The reason I bought it was to use with my slightly heavier aluminum gopro housings. I wanted something with a larger diameter but didn't want to use my 6" suction cup mounts. Either way, this thing works surprisingly well! I've made countless YouTube videos of me installing my gopros on all my vehicles, usually 2-3 independently installed gopros. So far I only had one suction cup that lost its suction power. My secret is making sure the surface is smooth and clean! I always wash the surface with water. Just pour some water on the spot and brush it off with your hand. Watch out for watches or jewelry. I make sure to keep the area slightly damp. not wet, but j It is enough to wet the suction cup when applying. If it slips I will rub the area a little more but not dry it completely. I've had great success with this method and it has worked to at least 85 mph! (Texas has an 85 mph speed limit).
