Review on 🔌 Dorman 645-562 Tail Lamp Socket: Superior Quality Socket for Reliable Tail Lamp Function by Damon Murray

I have already purchased replaced the factory outlet with this Dornan model. Headlights worked for about two years. Not realizing it was because the bulb wasn't holding up properly, I bought a new one (yes, again). This time it was obvious that the bulb was not fixed, which seems to be primarily due to the lower contacts not being pressed enough against the bulb. I used needle nose pliers to pull the contact up and some extra to make it springier and put pressure on the bulb. I should have read the reviews before buying as there seems to be an issue with the people who bought this outlet. Mine was for a 2009 VW Convertible Beetle. Looks like I'll have to choose another brand because I don't feel the socket will hold the bulb very well and it will likely go out again.
