We bought this to frustrate our dog who loves to steal from junk and it works great. The nickel paint is forgiving of the occasional drip and drip, and for the price the tin opens and closes smoothly. You'll have to stretch the top of a standard "bridal kitchen" bag a bit to fit around the oval top, but that's not a problem for us. The fact that the lid of the container is above the waste line means you can fill the bag without fear. The upper is a bit more plump than I expected - it's really a matter of personal taste if you like the design. Overall it's good value for money (other cans I've liked are $75 and up which is really a bit crazy for what they do unless you run a school cafeteria or coffee shop) , looks great in our relatively small kitchen and allows us to place the jar on the floor rather than the counter where we often keep our old jar so the dog doesn't get in the way.
