I was hoping for a more positive experience. First, the needle was inserted from the side. Then I discovered that there is no way to adjust the stitch length (maybe I should have read the description more carefully). that the thread tension knob was so tight that it broke the thread 3 times, even though I loosened the tension more and more. The handle almost had to be unscrewed in order for the tension to be low enough to form a stitch. And the stitch length was only 4 stitches per inch. If you open the seam to 4 inches you will not only see the stitches but also the gaps along the seam. I didn't expect the stitching to hold up through a wash - except maybe a delicate wash. would get credit for writing the review but i think it's a waste of space. i will return it
