I have it and faster at the same time. YAY! ADVANTAGES: Much easier and quicker to roll up than creating the ball by hand. I'm glad I bought it! The resulting cake is easy to USE when knitting (unlike a skein) as the cake stays in place when you pull on it. Runs smooth and quiet. The negative review states that it is not suitable for yarn picking. I had no problem fingering the yarn; It goes into the slots on the spool and holds up well. FOR SOME VS OTHER: The hole in the center of the cake is large. Some may like this because it can center the thread tension more easily and leaves enough space to to insert a label if the cake is stored. I prefer a smaller cake but that's personal. I'm editing this review after several uses. At first I thought the coil wasn't firmly attached in the center, allowing the cake to pop out. I've since found that with a bit of force this middle spool snaps into place really securely and WILL NOT come loose. So if you are having trouble with it showing up, turn it off and try again. It snaps into place. In fact, it will be difficult to take apart once inside. CONS: Not easy to spread out in a small box, so storage is not optimal. But it's not too big.
