Yes, this cover is expensive, but it's inexpensive insurance to protect your investment. Engineered to withstand drops and bumps. Don't be fooled by the other cases, which are single-layer hard plastic construction (cough. Encased); they don't protect. The OtterBox Defender has a soft cushioning layer that hugs your device, followed by a harder plastic layer, and an outer rubberized plastic layer wraps around it to absorb most impacts right from the start. This combination proves to be highly effective. The case is larger, but not as big as you would expect given the protection it offers. Feels like a quality product in hand. The texture is non-sticky, non-sticky. So far, this Purple Nebula case hasn't absorbed sebum, dirt, or stains. The holster also makes the impression of a quality product. It has a solid sound and feel when adjusting the tilt of the clamp or attaching/removing the phone. It will work with a Whitestone dome glass screen protector, but may require a minor modification to the case if you find it needs to raise your dome glass. the corner of the glass wants to be lifted. This was an easy fix, removing the case and using a sharp knife or razor to cut off less than 1/32 inch of the part that makes contact with the glass. did not affect the functionality of the case in any way and is not noticeable even when searching.See attached photo.I have this case ca it is a keeper.
