I bought this to replace the polyurethane faucet filter. I like them, but because of their all-plastic parts, they crack and leak too easily. I wanted stainless steel that wouldn't fall apart. I like the size (slightly smaller than PUR) and the included filters (4). My problem was that it didn't fit my faucet with all the attachments that came with it. I contacted the company and asked if they had other connectors that might work and I would have to return them if they didn't work. They offered me a $10 discount if I left this and bought the adapter locally. I agreed and found one that worked. No more worrying about the filter bursting or cracking and splattering the kitchen (and me). I told my sister about it and she brought an adapter that came with the polyurethane screw-on filter she had. This is the one I bought. So if you're switching from polyurethane to this and buying a screw type instead of a snap type, keep the adapter! All the above points are valid, but the filter really starts to work from the side of the filter with a handle. switched off. It started around the 9th month and got really bad by the 11th month. And that means you can't prevent hot water from reaching the side of the filter. I was told that this spoils the carbon part of the filter. So for filters that last a year, find out if the current price is better for you than another bank of filters and the cost of the filters.
