good quality toy and not expensive. The window of time to enjoy the toy is quite short simply because of its tactile qualities, so I don't like overspending on it. The noise coming from this thing is so loud and obnoxious that I pulled the batteries out after checking the noise. Cheap plastic sound box inside the cube; The aluminum screw on the battery cover snapped off immediately (and I used a micro-screwdriver, which fitted perfectly) and I had to pry it out with a flat head to put the batteries in, and again to take them out. Why these manufacturers today think babies and toddlers like horrible sounds is beyond me, but they deserve more than an assault on their ears. It's not difficult to get good sound out of a tiny speaker. When you press the nose, you will hear this hoarse and raspy "non-musical" sound, while the animal bleats/grunts/quacks just as loud and raspyly throughout. This is just terrible. Yes. Having said all that, I left it because it's a good toy with no noise and the kid likes it. Lots of things to touch, crunch, pop, stretch, romp, nice mirror and soft grip to rock it. Just don't buy it and expect cute animal sounds and music tones.
