This fan (Wire-Chrome/Black model SBM1-SI USB) just arrived today, so this review cannot attest to longevity yet, but at first glance it looks very cool and is well packaged and comes with a booklet with instructions and warranty information in multiple languages. Looks solid enough and well built, works right out of the box. Hi-Lo off-touch controls are easily accessible and require no extra pressure to operate. It creaked slightly on the first run as it hovered over certain corners, but I figured it had never run before, so maybe it just took a few minutes to "break in" so to speak. Took a few minutes and now it works from different angles, nothing but air noise and even that isn't very loud. With such a small wingspan, it moves an amazing amount of air. The design is really nice, industrial and simple but interesting and stylish - total Bauhaus aesthetic. This is truly a small work of art that belongs to MoMA. The base/frame is chrome steel wire, probably around 10 AWG, and the welds are clean and straight. The hinge is easy to adjust and keeps it in place tight enough. Its style appears to be modeled after the old "triangular" full-size floor/wall fans, so hanging it on the wall is as easy as attaching a sturdy mug hook. So far, so good! Will be updated long term when it is there. In the meantime, I'm ordering a few more for gifts.
